Basic Level 1

This can be accomplished after completing the 20 hour short course on ‘The Triad’ which is the heart of the system. Students obtaining this level will be permitted to teach ‘The Triad’

Basic Level 2

After completing level two syllabus and now having a good understanding of Defendo, the student will be required to be able to demonstrate joint locking and manipulation and be able to explain the ranges of combat and how defendo can be ‘functional and free flowing’ in those ranges as well as be able to help teach on seminars.

Basic Level 3

The student would have now completed the syllabus and will be able to teach their own seminars as well as help teach with UK Director Clive Elliott on his national seminars and work shops. The student will now have a complete understanding of where joint locking and manipulation fits into the frame work of reality combat and a full understanding of Defendo as well as its history.

Level 1 Instructor

Level one Instructor is the highest level that can be obtained in Defendo. Any instructor at this level can run seminars and workshops as well as represent Defendo UK both nationally and internationally. They will be able to grade up to basic level 3.
